Fancy a Film? (or tv?)

I have a few guilty pleasures... they are listed here, in my confessional blog, in no particular order (and in their varied genres).  Please forgive my sins:

I take it back.  Rather than repenting, let me offer plausible reasons as to why it's enjoyable and therefore acceptable that I watch these shows.

First, Glee gives me insight into myself who was once the outcast highschooler.  I now understand that if I'd only been able to sing, I would have found a place to call my own.

Second, as a single woman living in the city, I think it is imperative that I'm up to date on the pyschological states of the crazies that roam about.  Criminal Minds teaches me how to stay safe in an uncertain environment.

Lastly, I just think this is super fun.  Kids, design, and the free spirit of this family make me a bit jealous.  My OCD behavior could never do this, though I long for it!!  How fun!

So, am I still banished for bad behavior for watching these shows?

Fancy A Film?

Bright Star is about the relationship between John Keats the famous poet, and Frances "Fanny" Brawne.  Period pieces always draw me in, and especially when they are about love in all its shapes and forms.  Bright Star did well by me...

Bright star, would I were steadfast as thou art--
Not in lone splendour hung aloft the night
And watching, with eternal lids apart,
Like nature's patient, sleepless Eremite,
The moving waters at their priestlike task
Of pure ablution round earth's human shores,
Or gazing on the new soft-fallen mask
Of snow upon the mountains and the moors--
No--yet still steadfast, still unchangeable,
Pillow'd upon my fair love's ripening breast,
To feel for ever its soft fall and swell,
Awake for ever in a sweet unrest,
Still, still to hear her tender-taken breath,
And so live ever--or else swoon to death.
~John Keats

Fancy a Film?

I've been meaning to pick it up for awhile. Since my lovely and I had our Lovie day a week early, I had ample time yesterday to dive into some artsy films.  I ADORED "The Brothers Bloom."  It was divinely cute and colorful and quirky.  From the asian "bomb"shell to the eccentric Rachel Weisz, the scenery, decor, script kept me intrigued.

Some of my favorite quotes from the movie:

"I don't know about "truths." A photograph is a secret about a secret. The more it tells, the less you know. "

"I think you're constipated, in your fucking soul... I think you might have a really big load of grumpy petrified poop up your soul's ass."

"Your smile is the sun, ma chère. And fallen men, we need the sun."
