Mail.

Today is a day for mail.  When I opened my mailbox all I could hear was Elvis singing "return to sender, address unknown, no such number, no such zone" in my ear.
Come to find out, I just hadn't put quite enough stamps on my package to Sandra.  So sad that he letters were delayed for my lack of counting!

AND... drum roll, please....

I mailed THIS:

This might be news to the two of you that even read my blog, but if you do, please say a little prayer that this will either be lost in the mail if it's not supposed to happen, or be framed in the Registrar's office because I'm the best candidate ever.  I need God's hand on this to open or shut this door.  My only responsibility was filling out the paperwork.  The rest is His.  (p.s. - don't tell the people I work with - I wouldn't want to freak them out when there's not yet anything to tell!)

Deep breath.

Yours,
Emmy

Sandra!

I can't help but become overjoyed when I see sweet Sandra's face.  Her cheeks are rosy red and her raven hair is pulled back into tight ponytails.  She's not smiling, but I'm sure living fatherless, poor, and hungry in the slums of Bolivia doesn't give much to smile about.  Sandra is 5 years old and I'm proud and honored to be her Compassion International sponsor.  Last week I was enthralled with creating a care package for her.  Knowing she doesn't attend school and I can only send her items that fit in a flat envelope, I filled it with stickers and photos of home and family and coloring pages and funny stories of puppies and babies and snow.
If you want to know more about Compassion International, I encourage you to visit their website.  Also, read through the blogs of people who visited their sponsor children - you can't help but be amazed at how simple letters can have such a strong and lasting impact on their lives.  Please pray for Sandra that she continues to grow strong in the Lord and can soon find many reasons to put a smile on her angelic face!

Yours,
Emmy
